Within the last years Romanian music has ranked high in the most popular charts worldwide. Usually the Romanian songs that make it to the top are very upbeat, the rhythms are ethnic and perfect for the dance floor. These are some of the most well known Romanian music hits.
Alexandra Stan's Mr. Saxobeat has peaked to the top of the charts in the home country followed by success in Europe, Middle East and now in the United States where it is being played frequently on the radio.
Edward Maya's Stereo Love is another Romanian dance hit that became very popular. It is most recognizable for its party vibe and easygoing ethnic beats.
Probably the most well known Romanian hit within the last few years is O-zone's Dragostea din tei. The band is originally from Moldova. The tune became so popular that it was covered by others in Chinese, Portuguese and even Vietnamese.
